Hank Riner

Henry "Hank" Riner
President and Chief Executive Officer

Hank Riner was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Onvia in October, 2010.

Riner has over thirty years' experience in building and growing profitable businesses in the information services and software industries. Onvia represents Riner’s fifth CEO assignment in his career. Previously he was CEO of OSG Billing Services, CoAMS, SourceLink, and UMI. In each case Riner created exceptional shareholder value by aligning strategy, organization, and culture to build high-growth businesses with outstanding profit margins.

Riner is a visionary leader who has inspired organizations to excel and exceed their overall mission by relentlessly focusing on the customer and building information services and software solutions that redefine industries. Riner harnessed the commercial potential of the Internet earlier in his career by developing and introducing ProQuest in 1995, the first information provider to earn revenue from paid content on the Internet. Today ProQuest is used by hundreds of thousands of researchers, educators, students and professionals worldwide. 

Riner earned both his BA and MBA from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Irvine Alpert

Executive Vice President

Irvine Alpert, executive vice president, leads Onvia's business development efforts. Alpert was previously CEO of ProjectGuides, a customized information service that delivered leads to the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) community. He grew the company from a home business to one of the top AEC market-information sources in the nation. Prior to starting ProjectGuides, Alpert was president of RCI Environmental, an environmental remediation-contracting firm, where he grew sales from $100,000 to $12 million in three years. He also served as vice president of sales and marketing at Hart Crowser, Inc., one of the largest environmental services firms in the Pacific Northwest.

Alpert has an undergraduate degree in social sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master's degree in city and regional planning from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Naveen Rajkumar

Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Naveen Rajkumar joined Onvia in 2010 and leads the company’s technology, content, product management, and product marketing teams that support existing Onvia services, including the Onvia Online Database, the award-winning Onvia Guide, and the Onvia DemandStar eProcurement platform. Prior to Onvia, Rajkumar achieved success building several meaningful software products, and served as General Manager at Aditi Technologies managing significant business units. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.

 

Cameron Way

Chief Financial Officer

Cameron Way joined Onvia in August, 1999, became chief accounting officer in 2003 and was named chief financial officer in 2008. At Onvia, Way provides financial and operational leadership in growth management, corporate development, and strategic planning. Prior to Onvia, his early career was spent with the public accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from September, 1994, to August, 1999. His professional focus was on companies in the high tech and investment services industries, and he was involved in a number of initial public offerings. Way holds a bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif.

 

SoYoung Kwon

SoYoung Kwon
General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Vice President of Human Resources

SoYoung Kwon is general counsel, corporate secretary, and vice president of human resources of Onvia, Inc.  She is responsible for the company’s legal and corporate governance activities, in addition to advising the board and senior executives on all legal matters.  She is also responsible for leading and managing Onvia’s HR organization, focusing on employee relations, compensation and benefits, and recruitment and retention strategies. She was previously a senior corporate attorney at Safeco Corporation, an officer of the Safeco Insurance Foundation, and a corporate associate at the law firm Graham & Dunn P.C.

She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a law degree from the Willamette University College of Law. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.

Tom Dorsky

Tom Dorsky
Vice President, Content

Tom Dorsky joined Onvia in November, 2011, and is responsible for Onvia’s content strategy and best-in-class eGovernment content. Onvia’s content supports the current and next-generation products built to deliver superior, actionable information. He is currently spending much of his time enhancing and growing content for Onvia’s eGovernment marketplace.

Before joining Onvia, Dorsky was the Global Head of Content for Thomson Reuters’ mutual-fund and ownership information. His team provided information from more than 60 countries and supported more than $400 million in annual revenue. In addition to leading a 400-person team across 14 countries, he was responsible for creating the overall content strategy, overseeing operations, assisting with business development, and driving product integration of mutual-fund content. He redesigned and implemented an energized team focused on key measures of accuracy, coverage, and timeliness while delivering value-added market expertise and exceptional client service.

Prior to Thomson Reuters, Dorsky was the Vice President of Investment Operations at Wellington Management and Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bentley University and attended the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
