Training & Development
Job-related TrainingUpon your start date at Onvia, you will be scheduled to participate in a variety of training classes. To start with, you will participate in a “New Hire Orientation” that is generally lead by either our CEO or one of the Senior Executive staff. This training class is designed to give you the history of our company, the current state of our company and our future direction.
Next, you will be scheduled to participate in a “Human Resource Orientation” which is designed to answer any and all questions regarding your benefits at Onvia.
As part of your experience at Onvia, we offer on-going training that covers a variety of subjects as well as job-specific training to help you better understand our customers, processes, products and services. Some examples of instructor lead classes you will be expected to participate in are:
- Client Experience Training
- Government 101 Training
- Content 101 Training
- Management Skills Training
- Sales Product Training
On an on-going basis we are always looking to add new types of training that will not only benefit our customers, but also our employees. Throughout each fiscal year we make a conscious effort to uncover the areas in which we could use additional training. We also welcome suggestions from our employees on what that training should address. Each year presents any company with a new set of obstacles, and we want everyone at Onvia to feel that they have the tools necessary to overcome those obstacles. Most importantly, we want all our Onvians to feel that they are getting new tools and skills to help them reach their career goals.
Onvians are also encouraged to participate in workshops or seminars geared towards improvement of their current job or areas that will enhance their career growth opportunities. With your manager’s approval, your department will support the expense and time required for manager-directed training and certifications related to your job.
