401(k) Retirement & Savings Plan All full-time and part-time regular employees can participate in the 401(k) plan the first day of the month following your hire date, coinciding with or following the date you attain 21 years of age. Onvia currently matches employee contributions. Investment options are available through American Funds.
Medical Insurance / Dental and Vision Reimbursement Plans Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance is available to all eligible employees and their dependents including domestic partners. Full-time regular employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following their hire date. Medical insurance is provided by Premera Blue Cross (www.premera.com). Through our Direct Reimbursement plans (RPA) for dental and vision care, employees may use any licensed dental or vision provider and are reimbursed based on the dollars spent rather than the type of treatment received. This program is endorsed by the American Dental Association.
Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance Plans In the event of an injury, sickness, or pregnancy that results in a disability, Short-term and Long-term disability benefits, provided by Jefferson Pilot Insurance, will pay employees 60% of their annual income. Short-term benefits for accidents have no waiting period and for illnesses there is an 8-day waiting period with a benefit duration of 13 weeks. For long-term benefits the waiting period is 90 consecutive days. There is no cost to the employee for these benefits.
Onvia provides all eligible employees with Group Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage. Jefferson Pilot provides $50,000 per employee for each benefit. There is no cost to the employee for these benefits. Additional amounts of life insurance may be purchased through Jefferson Pilot at competitive group rates.
Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Plans Onvia offers reimbursement plans for eligible health care and dependent care expenses using pre-taxed dollars. Employees are eligible to participate in these plans after their 90-day introductory period.
Employee Assistance Program APS Healthcare provides short-term, confidential counseling services in collaboration with Onvia's health insurer for our employees and their families at no charge. This service provides prompt, convenient, accessible counseling and a toll-free 24-hour service number for a variety of topics such as depression, legal concerns, stress, workplace management, and financial concerns.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan Onvia's Employee Stock Purchase Plan is to provide eligible employees with an opportunity to purchase Common Stock of the Company at a 15% discount of the fair market value either from the beginning or end of the purchase period, whichever is lower through regular payroll deductions.
Training and Education Onvia is committed to the professional development and continuous improvement of its employees. In addition to on-the-job training, upon managerial and Human Resources approval, employees may participate in a number of in-house training seminars, individual workshops, and certification programs offered by State employers and other outside agencies.
Tuition Reimbursement Upon managerial and Human Resources approval, Onvia offers tuition reimbursement to all eligible employees who strive to improve their knowledge in job- or career-related areas by pursuing educational opportunities. To be eligible for reimbursement, employees must provide evidence of satisfactory course completion. Upon successful completion, reimbursement up to $2,000 per year occurs based on grade achieved in class. All up-front costs are the employee's responsibility.
Employee Referral Plan Onvia is always looking for more talented, dynamic, and driven people to join our staff. Onvia offers a $1,000 referral bonus to the referring employee if the referring employee and referred employee are on active payroll at the time of the 6-month anniversary date of the referred employee.
Time Away from Work: Paid Time Off Paid time off (PTO) is intended to provide employees with periods of time away from work for relaxation, recreation, personal business, or your own or family member's illness without loss of pay or benefits. With this in mind, Onvia provides a very generous PTO schedule for all regular full-time employees and regular part-time employees regularly scheduled to work at least 32 hours per week. Temporary and/or part-time employees and interns are not eligible to accrue PTO. Accrual of PTO begins with the employee's first full pay period after the date of hire. The amount of PTO an employee accrues depends on the length of service and the number of hours an employee is scheduled to work.
Holidays In addition to the accrued PTO, Onvia offers paid time off for the following 8 fixed holidays per year: New Year's Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day.
