Revenue Analyst
The Opportunity: We are seeking a mature professional with solid experience in the corporate finance arena. This Finance position will be responsible for review, analysis and reconciliation of revenue transactions, analysis of contracts in order to recommend appropriate revenue recognition, preparation of weekly revenue forecasts and sales metrics reports for senior management, and numerous ad-hoc projects as specified by management. The right candidate will demonstrate strong technical judgment to ensure financial transactions are appropriately recorded and will also exhibit poise, confidence and professionalism as you will have exposure to many different departments throughout the company.
Core Deliverables and Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly revenue forecast reports, and other sales metrics vs. plan for senior management
- Work closely with the sales organization to ensure complete understanding of contract deliverables and impact on revenue recognition compared to Sales Plan
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles to analyze contractual information in order to recommend appropriate invoicing and revenue recognition
- Assist in development of annual revenue plan
- Assist with monthly close process, including reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue accounts
- Review monthly budget variances with sales departments and identify potential future budget variances to communicate to the management team
- Other special projects as designated by management
- Coordinate and manage sales commissions calculations, assist in drafting of commission plans
Position Requirements:
- Strong experience in Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience using Solomon accounting software would be a plus
- Ability to proactively identify problems and propose solutions
- Ability to work both independently and with a team to achieve objectives
- Ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to interface with team members from all areas of the business
- A desire to achieve and to exceed expectations
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Accounting degree or equivalent experience
- CPA or CPA Candidate is a plus, but not required
- 4 years experience in corporate Accounting / Finance
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Excellent people skills for dealing with multiple departments within the Company
- Strong oral and written communications skills in a professional environment
