Small to Medium-Sized Business Account Manager
The Opportunity: The Renewal Account Manager will be the primary contact for clients once they are sold and through the life cycle of their relationship with Onvia. The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and obtaining increased revenue with each assigned account.
Core Deliverables & Responsibilities:
- Assist new subscribers throughout their subscription
- Contact a high volume of expired and cancelled accounts each day via outbound telephone calls to determine their reasons for non-renewal
- Close and/or refer potential sales opportunities
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual performance objectives
- Develop and maintain sophisticated knowledge of Onvia's products and services
- Efficiently maintain CRM database of customer contacts, leads and follow-ups
Position Requirements:
- Two or more years of sales and account management experience, preferably within Small and Medium Businesses
- Solid sales methodologies used to prospect within the account, consult with the client on business issues, create and present proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales (primarily over the telephone)
- Experience using sales force automation tools, preferably Goldmine
- Experience using Microsoft Office desktop tools
- The candidate will have excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide accurate, timely reports and forecasts as needed by management
- Demonstrated excellent activities management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively (exempt position)
- Strong teamwork skills, proven self-motivation and passion for their profession
- Impeccable business ethics with polished and professional personal sales presentation skills
Education / Training / Certification: Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred and/or equivalent experience in Account Management is desired.
To Move From Small to Medium-Sized Business Account Manager To Senior Small to Medium-Sized Business Account Manager:
- Completion of 12 months in Account Management role
- Performance appraisal of "Exceeds Expectations" or better (Retention, quota and migration expectations)
- Demonstrates ability to migrate and sell advanced services to existing clients
- Demonstrates expertise in the Value Selling Methodology through migration and/or growth of existing client base
- A positive, constructive, respectful and motivating role model for other Account Managers and the company
- Helpful in mentoring newly hired Account Managers
- Offers useful and construction suggestions for improvement
- Consistent and full adherence to all Sales policies
- Has served as a product, vertical (customer segment) or topical expert within one's Account Management Sub-Team for 6+ months
- Averaged minimum expected renewal rate for the last 12 months
- Attained an average of 100% of revenue quota for the last 12 months
- Attained 10 out of the last 12 months of revenue quota
- Migration of clients is consistently averaging 35% or better
- Demonstrated the ability to sell all of Onvia's products to multiple clients
- Recommended for promotion by one's Sales Account Management Manager
