Senior Product Manager

The Opportunity:
Onvia’s Products & Services team is looking for a bright, experienced Senior Product Manager to drive new product revenue opportunities. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with IT, sales and marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Senior Product Manager also ensures the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals. This position is based at Onvia’s Seattle headquarters.

Candidates must have experience in at least one of our target industries (construction, architecture/engineering, technology, operations & maintenance, transportation); experience with developing intangible services or subscription-based content such as “business information”; a passion for how content and technology drive business growth; and the ability to quickly identify opportunities to provide solutions for potential customers based on our offerings and the customers' unique needs.

Ideal candidate will have a high degree of curiosity about our clients’ businesses and passionate about understanding how clients use and understand our products and services. Candidate must boast a strong team orientation and drive to produce high quality results.

Core Deliverables and Key Responsibilities:

  • Define market needs driven product strategies and roadmap
  • Apply strategic thinking skills to market needs (which are often high-level or lacking in detail) and propose solutions in a clear and unambiguous manner
  • Develop unique opportunities to leverage Onvia’s databases and generate new revenue opportunities
  • Gather and define business requirements, build business cases and work with a cross-functional team to deliver MRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Product management and revenue accountability
  • The Product Manager will be asked to assist with sales opportunities
  • Develop positioning frameworks, content and messaging guidelines with the marketing team
  • Support product training for sales teams
  • Act as a leader within the company

Position Qualifications:

  • 7+ years product management experience with successful revenue performance
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle including working with engineering through to product release
  • Self-starting, analytical, bright and energetic
  • Client-focused attitude
  • Full commitment to producing market-leading products
  • An inquisitive disposition and the desire to understand the big picture
  • The ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate complex data
  • A strong business acumen that drives well-reasoned recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to adapt and remain positive and flexible to a changing work environment
  • Able to articulate and present complex ideas and plans to a variety of audiences
  • Business-to-business product management experience required

Education/Certifications/Training:

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred
