Onvia recently announced that it is now providing USAC Rural Healthcare bid data as a part of its sales intelligence platform. These bids are for network and telecom projects in rural areas, and represent yet another addition to Onvia’s comprehensive coverage of government contracting. Additionally, coverage of education-related government agencies has been broadened to include opportunities from public school districts with at least 500 students.

This expansion provides access to greater numbers of state, local and federal business opportunities in the healthcare, technology and education industries, including:

  • More than 30,000 additional education bids and RFPs - a 58% increase
  • An additional 5,000 healthcare bids and RFPs - a 27% increase
  • Leads from more than 2,000 additional school districts - a 30% increase

"We’ve earned valuable contracts by targeting USAC’s E-Rate projects for network and telecom identified through Onvia," said Michael Miller, Sales Manager at Arvig Enterprises. "We’re looking forward to pursuing more projects and increasing our wins with Onvia’s expanded healthcare and education datasets."

Onvia Clients Have Easy Access to E-Rate Bids and RFPs

The Universal Service Administrative Co., also known as USAC, began the Rural Healthcare (RHC) Program to help healthcare facilities in rural areas obtain increased internet and telecom connectivity. The program provides up to $400 million annually in reduced rates for broadband and telecom services.

USAC is the same group that supports the E-rate funding initiative, a similar program for providing technology-related projects in public schools and libraries. Education agencies use the E-rate process to procure items that keep their IT infrastructures up-to-date and secure.

In addition to the rest of Onvia’s comprehensive coverage of the government contracting marketplace, Onvia tracks E-rate bids and RFPs from across the country in a single location. When researching current and future leads, Onvia clients can use a special filter designed specifically for E-Rate and USAC program data.

Onvia has helped us grow our education sales by identifying relevant USAC E-Rate projects for network and telecom work. We're looking forward to pursuing even more relevant opportunities with Onvia's expanded USAC datasets for work at healthcare facilities and broadened coverage of school district opportunities.

Making a Civic Impact with Public Sector Sales Intelligence

In Onvia's recent survey of government procurement professionals for 2017-18, 40% of respondents reported not getting enough bidders on their projects. This is an even greater challenge for state, local and education (SLED) government agencies that are located in smaller communities and rural areas, and face logistical challenges in getting the opportunities in front of eligible bidders.

By sourcing bids from USAC's Rural Health Care Program and expanding the coverage of government contract leads from smaller school districts with lower enrollment numbers, Onvia is working to solve that problem and enable better products and services to be provided to areas that most need them.
