The Challenge

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) is an industry-leading consulting, engineering, and testing firm with 125 offices across America. With lines of business that include construction materials testing/engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and industrial hygiene, PSI is well-suited for government contract work in a wide variety of projects, and it needed a comprehensive and time-efficient way to track leads for those opportunities by project type and geographical area.

The Solution

PSI first subscribed to the Onvia Guide in 1999 at its Seattle area office and now has active Onvia accounts at more than 50 of its U.S. offices. PSI marketing director Erik Anderson appreciates how reliable and low-maintenance the Guide is for him and his colleagues. "Honestly I don't think about it very much," he says, "and that's a good thing. I know that the information is going to the managers and they're getting the support they need. The product is technologically sound and we always get great customer service."

Anderson worked with Onvia to come up with preset categories for contract searches that cover PSI's consulting and testing services. Managers in a regional office can further customize their Guide if that office specializes in one particular service, such as asbestos testing.
