The Challenge

As a full-service architecture, engineering and environmental services firm, Womer & Associates is ideally suited to compete for government design and construction contracts. In order to pursue these projects effectively, the firm needs comprehensive tracking and notification of government RFPs in its West Coast market area, particularly at the state and local level. The firm looked into several notification and business-intelligence services but couldn't find one that consistently provided information on state and local RFPs.

The Solution

When Womer & Associates was introduced to Onvia's government-procurement database services, the firm realized that it had found the local-level RFP tracking source it was seeking.

We looked into other services besides Onvia, but their coverage wasn't as good. Onvia's information is very thorough and delivers the coverage we need for the states we work with.

Lynda Pryor, Project Assistant

Womer & Associates signed up for the Onvia Guide, which provides daily reports via email containing the latest information on RFPs, bids, contract awards and other contracting opportunities specific to the firm's business priorities and market areas.

"I check the Onvia Guide every day to identify opportunities," says Pryor. "What's really nice are the project summaries, which help me sort out the projects by state so we can act on them quickly."

The Results

Womer & Associates has been an Onvia client since 2001 and renews its subscription each year because of the quality, breadth, and depth of information Onvia provides and the ROI it delivers.

What's more, says Pryor, "We've gathered a lot of contact information from Onvia that we use to identify teaming partners. This saves us a lot of time trying to gather that information ourselves. The information is organized well, easy to read, and thorough. We win at least a couple projects per year as a result of Onvia."
